HTJ-WORKS Ventura Overdrive

We have had a bunch of new pedal companies join our ranks as of late, and they just keep on comin’ with today’s featured builder, HTJ-WORKS from Japan. As soon as I plugged in their Ventura Overdrive, I knew something special was happening, and it has not disappointed yet. Bringing vintage and modern overdrive elements together, this monster shapes your tone and drives your amp in a unique and beautiful way…

Although the Ventura Overdrive is based on the TS808 circuit, it is a sound that can be used widely by combining it with a completely different circuit. Two internal dipswitches allow you to easily select from several types of circuit modifications: Ventura, TS808 and 2 asymmetrical options. The tonal seasoning comes not only from the Volume, Tone and Gain controls, but an internal High Boost and external Bass Boost trimpots, really letting you create a wide range of unique sounds.

The Ventura Overdrive is a classy drive sound that has plenty of gain, but doesn’t get buried in the mix. It is very different from TS in that it has a sharp tone and firmly raises its presence. The appearance is also simple and classy, and is a product that can be recommended for all guitar players. It uses high-quality operational amplifiers that are highly evaluated in the audio industry, and condensers used in amplifiers, silver mica, gold-plated terminal jacks, DALE metal film resistors, etc. are used in appropriate places as well.

This is not your run-of-the-mill tube screamer here, folks – this one has the classic sounds, but gives you a lot of ways to shape YOUR sound, and create a tone that is unique and adventurous. We love the look , sound and feel of the Ventura Overdrive, and are fairly certain anyone who tries one will as well.
