Colfax Recorders Porcelain Fuzz

The first two pedals we have had the pleasure to explore from Colfax Recorders, the Apache Rose Preamp and the Zephyr Overdrive, were absolute musical beasts. Today, we’re looking at the third and final pedal in their current lineup, and it most definitely is in the same category. The Porcelain Fuzz might sound a bit dainty, delicate or slightly breakable at first, but this three-knob wonder will annihilate anything that crosses its path…

The Porcelain Fuzz can be your dirty, squishy fuzz that is ready to find a home anywhere in your signal chain. The Tone knob can boost or scoop the bite of the fuzz to sit wherever you want it in the mix, and Fuzz, when cranked, can get you a gnarly, psychedelic fuzz sound that cleans up nicely with your guitar’s volume knob. The Porcelain Fuzz also has a nice high input impedance ready to take in any kind of signal you give it.

We did a little two-part thing with our demo for the Porcelain Fuzz – the first section shows what it can do on its own, then we pair it up with the Zephyr Overdrive for some sweet stacking action in section two. These three effects from Colfax Recorders will absolutely cover ALL of your dirt needs, and would be welcomed on any pedalboard, regardless of what musical style you play.
