Inspiring Devices Light Roast Overdrive

Discovering new pedal companies is one of the joys of getting to do what I do, and we’ve got another one for you today! Our new pal Steve over at Inspiring Devices (a fitting name, for sure) sent over his flagship effect, and it was an instant sonic hit. The Light Roast Overdrive has three knobs, as many overdrives do, but this one’s unique shape and killer circuit make it stand out from the masses…trust us.

The Light Roast circuit is its own unique design, and is not based on any other circuit. This design came about from playing amps that are designed to be pedal platform amps, which are high headroom and super clean, but perhaps lack the breakup or slight compression when you really dig in. The Light Roast is designed to give you the pushed clean (and more!) and natural compression of an amp at the edge of breakup. The Light Roast Overdrive gives your guitar a lively tone, with delicate hints of harmonics and nuanced overdriven flavor profile, highlighting the distinct qualities of your guitar’s original tone. Adjust the Expand control for a brighter and more vibrant cup of your guitar’s tone.

Designed as an always on pedal, the Light Roast Overdrive gives you “more” of your guitar into the amp without coloring your tone and feel, acting like an extension of your amp. Want more gain from the pedal? Drive it with a boost or overdrive to push it over the top!
