Lounsberry Pedals Organ Grinder Overdrive

Lots of new visitors to Pedal of the Day over the last few weeks, and we’re keeping it going today with our first effect from Lounsberry Pedals. The Organ Grinder Overdrive was designed for, you guessed it, organ and keys, but we’re testing it out with guitar and bass today, and it rips. Sometimes two knobs, a great circuit and perfect gain staging is all you need to push your amp and tone right into that sweeeeet spot…

The Organ Grinder was the first Lounsberry Pedal designed for keyboards. Developed with the aid of Roger Powell of Utopia and Meat Loaf fame, it provides a fat, tubelike overdrive for clonewheel organs that can cover the gamut of organ sounds from Greg Rollie, to Jon Lord, Uriah Heep, and even Canterbury sounds. It is a gain staged preamp with Germanium diodes. The onset of overdrive is gradual, adding compression and 2nd order harmonics. With it’s drive and transparency, it works extremely well even with complex chord shapes.

Like all Lounsberry pedals, it sounds and plays more like an amp than a pedal, bringing to mind the tube power amp section of an overdriven Leslie cabinet. As it easily handles the low notes, the Organ Grinder Overdrive also sounds awesome with bass guitar. It is the ultimate shredding device for the keyboardist, guitarist or bassist who wants to rock! Thanks to Lounsberry Pedals for sending this gem our way – be sure to check out our demo below, and head to the Lounsberry website for ordering and more info!!
