Chase Bliss Condor HiFi Analog Tone Bird

Throughout the years, I’ve been fortunate to get my hands on nearly every pedal that Chase Bliss has put out, except one…until today. Much like its rare and elusive namesake, the Condor HiFi Analog Tone Bird has eluded our grasp, but the long wait has finally come to and end. Building on the original version released in 2018, this updated unit has some new features, new design aspects and the “must-have” sound I’ve been hearing about for years…

Condor HiFi is built around the OPA1662 op-amp to deliver lower noise and a more high-fidelity response than the original, giving you vivid character where you need it and absolute transparency where you don’t. The power supply from Chase Bliss’ Preamp MKII internally boosts the voltage up to a whopping 30V, too. This makes Condor HiFi a friendly partner to instruments of all kinds, giving you all the space you need to wildly boost without unwanted clipping.

Condor’s parametric mids are the key. Freely sweep the frequency spectrum and find the sweet spot to push, scoop or slice to make everything sit just right. Give your sound a synthesized edge with Condor’s one of a kind low-pass filter – create cutting emphasis and howling lead lines, or captivating sweeps using expression control or Condor’s built-in modulation.

What sets Condor’s drive apart is its interactive relationship with the different EQ blocks. You can use the pre-gain Bass control to push it beyond its limits and the post-gain Mids/LPF to lift it up and give it resonant punch. Kick on Condor’s rich and responsive Drive when you need some grit, for everything from a sparkly boost to full-on soaring crunch.

Hidden within Condor are multiple flavors of unique modulation that can be mixed and mingled, from tasteful tremolos to hypnotic sweeps. Add, subtract, and tweak to discover modulated hybrids that are yours alone. Condor HiFi also features advanced connectivity and customization options including MIDI, CV and Expression control, presets, and internal modulation of any or all its knobs.
