We recently had the wonderful chance to check out two new pedals from our friends at Keeley Electronics, the Muse Driver & Noble Screamer, a couple of excellent drives and the first foray into Keeley’s new-look series. Today, we’ve got not one, not two, but THREE more new pedals from Robert and the crew, designed in the same layout and format as the previous two. Ladies and gents, help us welcome to the world the Blues Disorder, Super Rodent and Angry Orange effects pedals!!
The Super Rodent is a 4-in-1 pedal that gives you two well-known distortion circuits and two brand new sounds by way of the toggle switches! It’s almost like pedal-modeling, except these are 100% analog circuits and you decide which tone-control or clipping-section you want to play through. You can play through the classic yellow ‘Japanese Super O-Drive’ or a ‘Rodentia Michigander’ distortion circuit, or even better, you can Frankenstein new monster tones with the two hybrid modes. By mixing the SD Overdrive
and RT Distortion, you can create two unique Hybrid Distortions.
The Angry Orange is a 4-in-1 pedal that gives you two well-known fuzz and distortion circuits and allows you to create two dope new hybrid tones! It’s sort of like pedal-modeling except these are 100% old-school, analog circuits and you decide which tone control or clipping section you want to rock. Heavily saturate your guitar through either a legendary ‘78 Japanese Orange Distortion or a ‘91 Soviet War Fuzz. By mixing the MF Fuzz and DS Distortion, you can create two unique Hybrid Fuzz Distortions.
The Blues Disorder is a 4-in-1 Overdrive and Distortion that has two switches that allow you to separate the tone control and clipping section of the drives, giving you two brand new sounds. You can play through a Bluesy, Breaker-style Overdrive or a fuller, OC Distortion sounding circuit, better yet you can innovate new sounds switching into hybrid modes. Swap tone controls and/or distortion sections to create new sounds. By mixing the BB Overdrive and OC Distortion, you can create two unique Hybrid Drives.
The Keeley crew has developed an amazing sounding buffer for each of these effects which not only makes your rig sound better, it gives you silent switching with no tone loss. No more pops and clicks to distract from your music. If you want to turn that feature off and go back to true bypass, simply press and hold down the foot switch for two seconds and the pedal will switch to True-Bypass (LED will flash twice).
All of these pedals are entirely designed and manufactured by Keeley Electronics in a new aluminum enclosure.
