NuX Time Core Deluxe MKII Stereo Delay

We’ve been reviewing and demoing effects units from NUX for over six years now, and they just keep getting better and better. After checking out the Verb Core Deluxe a couple weeks ago, we’re excited to bring you all the Time Core Deluxe MKII Stereo Delay, the latest in NUX’s Core Series of pedals. With seven delay modes and a built-in looper for mode eight, this one has a lot of options, sounds and vintage vibes…

The NUX Time Core Deluxe MKII is a delay pedal with 8 different modes – use the Delay Type knob to choose from the following options:

  • ΦPhi Digital Delay a digital delay with golden ratio 2nd repeat head.
  • Analog Delay based on the timeless BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) delay, producing a very warm sound with natural treble decay.
  • Modulation Delay based on the Ibanez DML modulation delay, with lush and rich chorus.
  • Tape Echo based on the legendary Space Echo machine, it has the high-frequency saturation and low-end decay of magnetic tape.

  • Pan Delay changes ordinary panning to “gourmet” panning that involves not only stereo placement but interesting imaging possibilities.
  • Verb Delay features a Plate Reverb algorithm with Digital Delay to create an ambient atmosphere.
  • Reverse Delay a truly classic effect: Record a guitar part on tape. Flip the tape over. Play it back.
  • S.O.S (Sound On Sound) a 40 seconds stereo phrase looper for guitarists to practice and create new ideas.

The Repeat knob controls the echoes, but there’s a couple hidden features here as well. In Mod D. mode, this controls the intensity of the modulation applied to the repeats, and in Verb mode, it sets the amount of reverb present. These features are both accessible by holding down the footswitch to access the ALT settings. The lone toggle switch lets you select True or Buffer Bypass options as well.

That’s exactly what the folks at NUX have achieved with the gorgeous Time Core Deluxe MKII, and as you’ll hear in our demo below, this one is capable of more tones than you can imagine. Thanks to NUX as always for sending this one over for us to review – we’ve got some more from them coming soon, so stay tuned…but, in the meantime, click below to check out our demo video, and don’t forget to subscribe to our YT channel while you’re there, thanks!!
