TolRed Pedal Germanium Fuzz

It’s always a blast to meet new companies from all around the world, and I think today might be the first time I’ve had a pedal come my way via Turkey! The TolRed Pedal Germanium Fuzz is a take on a classic fuzz circuit, with some circuit changes and the addition of an extremely useful parameter to bring this sound into modern times. The TolRed Germanium Fuzz is a redesigned version of the classic Tone Bender MK2 circuit, built with NPN germanium transistors. The legendary Tone Bender is regarded as one of the most iconic pedals that helped shape the distinct fuzz tones of rock and blues music since the 1960s. While this pedal preserves the same tonal tradition, it also incorporates modern improvements to meet contemporary performance needs.

The original Tone Bender MK2 featured two potentiometers (volume and attack), whereas the TolRed Germanium Fuzz adds a third control: Bias. The Bias potentiometer adjusts both the output character and the tonal balance of the pedal. At lower settings, the tone leans toward a softer, vintage-style distortion; as the Bias is increased, the pedal transforms into a more aggressive and cutting fuzz.
