Death By Audio Crossover Fuzz + Photo Modulator Expression Controller

New Release Day for ANY pedal is always fun, but when we get let into the wild world of Death By Audio effects, you know you’re in for a special treat. We’re actually going to take a look at TWO devices today: the Crossover Fuzz and the Photomodulator Expression Controller. The fuzz takes your highs and lows and splits them into a wild stereo spectrum, further exploited and energized by light-controlled expression. Lots to dive into here, so excited for these two!!

The Crossover Fuzz splits your signal into two filtered fuzzes: a thick, roaring fuzz going through a low-pass filter and a ripping snarling fuzz going through a high-pass filter. With flexible Mono/Stereo ins and outs, you get a ton of unique routing options – panning between amps, stereo warping, instrument summing, bass separation, frequency mixing, feedbackery…the possibilities are limitless. Separate knobs control the gain for the LOWS (low-pass) and HIGHS (high-pass) filters. Craft everything from clean, to gritty overdrive, to thick fuzz. Dial in the gain of each fuzz, sweep their absurdly resonant filters, and dive into the endless sonic realm of the Crossover Fuzz!

Also along for the ride is the new Photo Modulator Expression Controller, a device that uses light to control your sound. Shine a bright light – such as a strobe, flashlight, stage light, or even a lava lamp – on to the sensor to sweep your effect one way. Cover it in shadow, and it sweeps the other. Used in conjunction with the Crossover Fuzz, and perhaps a bit of delay, your sound will be launched into the auditory stratosphere, creating experimental sounds that will wow and dazzle all who hear them.
