I’ve had the honor of demoing every pedal in the Aclam effects lineup over the last 6+ years, and am excited to bring you an oldie but a goodie today. Building on their flagship effect, the Dr. Robert V3 VOX UL730 Replica brings a very specific and unique sound to your practice room, rehearsal space or gig, opening eyes and ears along the way. The Dr. Robert pedal is the most accurate replica of the iconic VOX UL730 amp, which was made famous by The Beatles, as they used it on Revolver & Sgt. Pepper’s albums. Also used by The Rolling Stones, Jimmy Page or Joy Division, only 100 units of this amp were produced and most of them were destroyed. In late 2025, Aclam upgraded the Dr. Robert by adding external controls for the Bass/Treble EQ and the Mach Schau! Gain. On top of that, the new global Lo/Hi Gain mode makes the pedal more versatile than ever. Klaus Voormann (Revolver’s cover album designer) has even created the artwork for the Dr. Robert pedal.

Unlike typical EQs, the Vox® UL730 placed the Mids control after the first gain stage and before the volume pot. Then, a special gain stage follows with the Bass and Treble controls. This design lets you adjust mids independently from the rest of the EQ. Turn the Mids knob counterclockwise for a scooped tone, or clockwise to boost mids and overall gain, driving your amp into rich saturation.
