It’s always a blast when I get a pedal in from a new (to me, anyway) company, and I’m really stoked to bring you all an absolute beast of an effect today. The Glass Drive from Axewerx is an octave, overdrive, distortion and fuzz all rolled into one sonically gorgeous mess, complete with flexible options both on the outside and internally. If the graphics are giving you any kind of indication, this is a wild one, so get ready and let’s see what its all about…
The Glass Drive is a filthy & flexible dual-stage octave dirt, a custom-made analog pedal (with one digital chip…shhh). Breadboarded, refined, designed, and assembled by hand on a custom PCB. Built to deliver two radically different flavors of octave-driven tone in one enclosure. On the Left side (Drop), you get an octave down sound, selecting whether you want -1 or -2 octaves via an internal dipswitch. On the Right side (Lift), you get an octave up harmonic distortion, with a toggle to engage or bypass the Octave effect.
The two channels can be used independently or stacked together, and there’s a buffered input for signal stability and clarity. An active mixer stage blends the two channels, the Filter knob controls the tone shaping, and the Focus control trims each effect path and blends in clean signal. There’s also a master volume control for output leveling (Smash). The Glass Drive features a custom PCB and hand-built assembly, UV-printed enclosure graphics, and carefully selected components for expressive octave textures.
Each unit is assembled, measured, and tested by hand to ensure consistent response and long-term reliability. Input/Output/Power sections are separated on their own PCB from the primary effect circuits, for high circuit fidelity and ease of repair. Cheers to Axewerx on a unique, amazing build with the Glass Drive Octave Overdrive Distortion Fuzz – the aesthetics on this thing are top notch, too, just look at it!! Head over to their website for more info and ordering, and check out out demo video on YouTube – this one will grab the attention of knob turners and noisemakers out there, cheers!!
