Kala Brand Teak Tri-Top Tenor Ukulele

Sometimes, I get the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and discover a new sound or instrument I never thought I needed. The latter is the case today, as the folks from Kala Brand have sent over their Teak Tri-Top Tenor Ukulele for me to check out, and it has been an absolute blast!! I think I bought my daughter a kid’s ukulele when she was very little, but I never learned to play it, really, so this was all a new and exciting experience for me…let’s check this thing out!!

The Teak Tri-Top Ukulele is a striking addition to Kala’s line of affordable ukuleles. Made primarily of Teak — a tropical hardwood that has a very soft brown tone with tight, straight grain patterns and striping — the Tri-Top comes together with a triangular strip of mahogany that runs down the center providing a red or orange contrast against the brown. The stain is so natural it looks like the wood is fresh-cut from the tree. These ukes also feature a sharp, Florentine Cutaway and an active EQ with built-in tuner, and are available in Concert and Tenor models.
