fulltone mdv2 mini deja vibe 2If you have been trying to find that coveted ’60s Uni-Vibe sound, your search is about to be over. The MDV2 Mini Deja Vibe from Fulltone has got all your bases covered…and then some. First, the effect (which is True Bypass, by the way) turns on and off by pressing the HEEL down, just like the original Uni-Vibe. Brilliant! Second, a whole slew of controls on the side allow you to really dial in some great tones. The Sensitivity knob controls how much of the effect is mixed in with your signal, and the Volume knob controls, well, the volume. 2 additional switches are where this baby really shines, though. Change the sound from a lush Chorus to a gorgeous Vibrato with just one flick, and go from a more Vintage sound to a Modern tone with Switch #2. Fun to sit and play with the settings, and once you’ve got it set to fit your style and sound, this thing will never leave your board.

Now, this is the second version, and Fulltone has come out with a Deja Vibe 3, with a couple of new features, but the same incredible vibe sound, as far as I can gather. I like these better than the regular stompbox version they also made, as you can control the speed with your foot, instead of having to bend down and turn a knob. Personal preference, I know, just easier and more convenient in my opinion. The Min Deja Vibe 2 is an incredible work of sonic art from Fulltone…but would we really expect anything less?

  1. I am having trouble picking a vibe. I am stuck on your wah-type vibe vs the traditional stomp pedal without the wah foot control. Can you highlight any pros or cons of either. I assume the big difference is the speed control controlled by foot. But, I have had bad luck with wah type pedals being damaged and being intermittent over time due to the nature of the foot pedal operation. How durable would your wah type vibe be?
