electro-harmonix small cloneThe Electro-Harmonix Small Clone is an extremely well built unique sounding chorus pedal. With only one rate knob and one depth switch, it is very easy to dial in a great chorus sound. This pedal works great with all dirt effects, time based effects, and other modulation effects alike. It is built with time tested Electro-Harmonix quality and styling sure to look as great as it sounds while standing the test of time.

The rate knob controls the amount of effect produced and can go from a very subtle chorus sound to full out watery warble. The depth switch lets you choose from a traditional chorus effect or a very unique chorus sound witch is like having two pedals in one. Don’t let the simple controls steer you away as this effect is extremely versatile. This unit was used on countless recordings. With extreme settings it can give that Nirvana chorus sound heard on many of their songs. With more moderate settings it can give a more traditional chorus tone that is very musical. A unique chorus tone can be achieved by simple tweaking of the controls.

I personally was not a fan of chorus at all until I used this pedal. I have it set at about 9 o’clock with the depth switch engaged. When used with a cranked fuzz, it gives me a unique tone that is not Nirvana but more a Black Sabbath type feel. It is prominent without being overpowering, which is great for lead-based breakdowns and solos. I absolutely love this pedal and if it were to break, I would buy another immediately. At about $80 new, it’s a great value.
