Pedal Projects Growly Overdrive Boost

The Pedal Projects Growly overdrive/boost left me speechless as soon as I opened up the box. Ásgeir of Pedal Projects is known for the outstanding work he puts into his pedals, and now I have experienced it first-hand. The build quality of the Growly is just awesome.
The Growly also has an amazing and very unique sound that I have never gotten out of any other overdrive pedals I’ve tried.

The drive circuit features a volume knob to set the output volume, a body knob to control the shape and fullness of your tone, and a Bias knob that allows you to blend between two “clipping modes” instead of only choosing one or the other with a switch. The thing that sets this drive apart from others is the internal gain knob-you don’t have to touch it. You can get anywhere from clean and smooth boost to completely dirty without even touching a gain/drive knob. All it takes is dialing in the Body and Bias knobs.

The boost side of the Growly is the Owly Boost built in. The Owly boost is very well known for just being an all-around great boost. It lends itself well to the Growly by giving you that little touch of extra punch for a solo or just being an “always on” pedal to give your tone fullness and a little flavor.

I really didn’t expect to write this long of a review for this, but I just kept thinking of more good things to say. This is an amazing overdrive/boost pedal. The versatility is unreal. So do yourself a favor and order one soon, the price is a steal for what you get.
