Ok, delay pedal lovers, here is another one: the TC Electronic Nova Repeater. This pedal is pretty self-explanatory, but for the sake of the whole Pedal of the Day review…let’s dive on in! First, let me say, if you are going to purchase this, use a true isolated power supply, don’t daisy chain this one. It will add white noise and hiss that will haunt your dreams. Ok, the delay sound out of this is amazing. The only downside is that it doesn’t have presets, so you only have the delay that’s on right in front of you, but if you don’t change delays a lot then you won’t have to bend down all the time.

Finding a good sound is not hard with six different types of delay: studio, analog, tape, dynamic, reverse and ping pong, plus six division settings: quarter note, dotted eighth and eighth note triplets then a combo or dual delays. This works great for stereo you get 1/4 out of the right side and a choice of .1/8, 1/8 or 1/8 triplets. It has a range button to dial in the time you want, and works in conjunction with the delay knob. Able to range anywhere from 20 to 1200 ms. Has a kill dry button that….well, kills the dry signal, allowing the wet to come through only. And a spillover button that allows the delay to trail off when the pedal is bypassed.

This sucker has five knobs on the top the delay knob adjust the time according to what range you’re in. Feedback (you know how long you want the delay to trail on). Tone knob that can roll off the highs or add some bass depending on what mod you’re in. It can also adjust the overall clarity of the delay as well. Mod knob, which the more you turn to the left adds a wonderful vibrato, and to the right a lush chorus. An FX level knob that is unlike most, as it doesn’t blend the wet and dry signal. Instead, it increases the delayed signal only. With the added tap tempo switch at the bottom, this delay pedal is a complete package that will amaze the ears of those that hear. For slow ambient stuff, roll up that Mod knob and hear the sound that will travel you away from your problems. The dynamic setting works well for soloing – it stays low while you play, but the delay sound increases when you stop, so you wont get a jumbled mess. Overall, you will be pleased with the TC Electronic Nova Repeater.
