Mantic Effects Proverb Reverb - Pedal of the Day

Mantic Effects Proverb Reverb

Well, it’s official: Reverb has been creeping up into our subconscious for a while now, and it has firmly planted itself in the Number Two spot on the list of effects we love the most right now (Delay is Number One, and that will probably always remain). That said, when the opportunity to snatch up a Proverb Reverb from Mantic Effects came up, it was a basic no-brainer, as they create some of the most unique and wacky pedals out there. We knew this would be something special, and we were not disappointed in the least!

Not your average, everyday reverb, the Proverb features some bold tones and an expression pedal jack from more control (more on that soon). The only control that you can tell what it does by the label is the Mix knob, which blends your Wet and Dry signals together, simple enough, right? Here’s where it gets nutty. The Numb knob is like a Repeats controller, and can move the Proverb into sweet self-oscillation territory with ease. From a quick hit of reverb to long, drawn-out sonic passages to crazy, over-the-top feedback, this control does it all.

The Dwell knob controls to amount of reverb that comes into play when the Proverb is engaged, and will do a wide range of sounds as well. A slight echoed tone bounces off your guitar’s strings with ease, while a quick turn of this control emits a long, lush and warm reverberated sound, covering your amp with a blanket of delicious echoes. This can also be controlled by an expression pedal via a 1/4″ jack alongside the Input and Ouput, allowing you to fade and swell your reverb tones with ease.

Perhaps a little more laid-back then some of their other effects, the Proverb is not to be underestimated, by any means. This seemingly innocent reverb will rocket power your tone through the stratosphere and back again, all while maintaining a crystal-clear signal throughout it’s high-quality wiring and handmade enclosure. These cats from Colorado know what they’re doing, and seem dead-set on creating new, innovative and unique versions of typical pedals, as well as ones that haven’t even been invented yet. Be sure to check out the Mantic Effects website, and get prepared to be blown away.
