J.Rockett Audio Designs .45 Caliber OverdriveToday’s guest review comes to us from Daniel N. – find him on Instagram (@danielguitarist) and say hi!

The .45 Caliber by J.Rockett Audio Designs is one beast of an OD pedal. It is based on a 1962 plexus and strives to get that AC/DC sound (Malcom and Angus). It does that sound very well and also has many other tones that are extremely useful. It can be a great low gain pedal, perfect for neck pickups. It can just easily provide soaring lead tones that have a nice mid push. Really it covers a lot of ground.

It fits really nicely in my rig which is mainly centered around a clean Mesa Boogie Lonestar. It helps bring that amp to life without coloring it in a bad way. What is nice about too is that it’s very even sounding which makes it perfect for rhythm. Every chord cuts and every note gets heard. I use it for most rock or new country stuff I play.

All in all this thing just really makes a lot of great sounds. The EQ is really usable and the gain sweep is very nice. If you are looking for a very well-made, vintage Marshall-inspired pedal, than this may be your pedal. I hope my demo video shows you how versatile and cool the .45 Caliber is. Happy tone chasing!
