What’s better than a killer delay pedal? Well, not much, but they’re even better when there are TWO of them in one box! The Multi Tap 2 Delay sees a collaboration between Hermida Audio and Lovepedal, two excellent pedal builders in their own rights, and proof that sometimes two heads can be better than one.
This golden creation was inspired by both the wavering tape delay sounds of the 70’s and the crisp, digital, dual delay parameters of units from the 80’s, giving it a unique feel all its own. It’s super easy to dial in some great Binson Echorec or RE-201 Space Echo sounds, all with a bit of modern edge to them. The Mix knob controls the overall blend of your instrument’s dry signal with the delay effect, and separate Delay 1 and Delay 2 knobs control the delay lines of each, ranging from 0-1000ms on both delays. Finally, the Regen control lets you adjust the echo repeats to taste, from one to many.
Nothing too fancy here (at first glance, anyway), but as you delve into the Multi Tap 2 a little bit, you’ll discover a whole new world of delay and echo sounds you never thought were possible in an enclosure this small, and with these few controls. The crews at Hermida Audio and Lovepedal have created something special in the Multi Tap 2 Delay, combining our favorite delay tones from 2 very different decades into one powerful pedal. Unfortunately, these little gems don’t appear on either of their websites, which we assume means they’ve been discontinued. If you happen to come across one, snatch it up quick, ’cause you are going to have a blast adding this guy into your rig.
