Weird Noise Pedals What The Fuzz

Last month, we were introduced to Weird Noise Pedals, an up-and-coming effects company out of Astoria, OR. Their Fuzz It was a wonderful one-knob buzz machine, and we couldn’t wait to dive into today’s more complex pedal. What The Fuzz is a 2 silicon transistor fuzz pedal capable of everything from touch sensitive overdrive to a thick fuzz. Very responsive to your guitar’s volume and tone controls, this one really makes the rafters shake…

What? Turn it up, it’s the Volume control! Tone isn’t so much an EQ control, as it is a different beast of tone-shaper. Turned to the left, it produces thick fuzz; turning it to the right gives you an almost lo-fi fuzz sound. Turn the Fuzz knob counterclockwise, and you’ll get a gritty overdrive; clockwise brings out the heavy fuzz. The lone toggle switch gives you 2 different fuzzy options as well: switched to the left the fuzz is wide open, switched to the right the fuzz is gated for some interesting sputtering.

This is a real face-crusher, let us tell you. What The Fuzz manages to blur the lines between overdrive and fuzz beautifully, producing loads of gorgeous dirt to mash in perfectly with any rig. The toggle switch opens things up as well, turning a seemingly tame monster into a roaring, raging, fire-breathing sputtery beast, and we just can’t get enough. With this one and the Fuzz It being the first couple of creations to come from the Weird Noise Pedals camp, we’re super stoked about their future in the pedal industry.
